Karla C. Baer
Karla Baer joins Shoecraft Burton, LLP upon her return to beautiful San Diego. Ms. Baer graduated from the University of Southern California with a B.A. in Psychology before attending the University of San Diego School of Law. Following law school, she worked in Los Angeles within the Appeals, Writs and Trials Section of the Criminal Division of the California Attorney General’s Office. In that capacity, Ms. Baer filed Respondent Briefs on behalf of the People of the State of California regarding various issues.
Ms. Baer spent the next decade in Philanthropy with two major Los Angeles Foundations assessing the viability and operations of nonprofits in homelessness, education, and the Child Welfare system. Immediately prior to joining Shoecraft Burton, LLP, Ms. Baer worked with a Los Angeles-based insurance defense firm litigating first and third party general civil liability, trucking, uninsured/underinsured motorist, breach of contract and product liability claims.
Ms. Baer is admitted to practice law in all state courts in California as well as the United States District Court for the Central District of California. She is a member of the San Diego chapter of the Association of Business Trial Lawyers, San Diego County Bar Association, and LEAD San Diego.
When she is not working, Ms. Baer may be found at the beach with her husband, daughter, and GoldenDoodle “Cotton Ball”.
